Privacy Policy

Effective July 11, 2026 Applies to the Homivault Android app Contact: krishan.kant03@gmail.com

1. Overview

Homivault is a personal home-inventory app: it helps you track appliances, warranties, service history, and invoices. This policy explains, plainly, what information the app collects, why, and where it goes. There is no advertising, no data resale, and no tracking beyond what's needed to run the features you use.

2. Data we collect

All of the following is entered by you, or generated as a direct result of using a feature you chose to use.

CategoryExamplesRequired?
Account identity Name, email address, and profile photo from Google Sign-In Required
Appliance records Item name, brand, model, price, purchase date, warranty and service dates Required
Photos & invoices Appliance photos and invoice files you attach Optional
App settings Theme, language, currency, and a hashed PIN if you enable app lock Optional

3. Where your data lives

4. Google account permissions

When you sign in with Google, Homivault requests exactly three permissions, and nothing more:

PermissionWhat it's used for
Email & profileIdentify your account and personalize the app
Drive — app-created files only Back up invoices and your inventory export to a private folder. Homivault cannot see, list, or modify any other file in your Drive.

5. How we use it

6. Sharing with third parties

Homivault does not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. Data is processed only by the infrastructure providers that run the app — Google Firebase (database, authentication) and your own Google Drive — never by unrelated third parties.

7. Your controls

8. Security

Access to your appliance records is enforced server-side: Firestore security rules ensure only your authenticated account can read or write your own data. Files you back up to Drive use the narrowest available permission scope, limited to files Homivault itself created. An optional on-device PIN or fingerprint lock adds a further layer against anyone with physical access to your phone.

9. Children's privacy

Homivault is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.

11. Ownership & terms of use

Homivault — including its source code, design, user interface, icons, branding, and the "Homivault" name and logo — is the proprietary work of its developer. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.

Downloading and using the app grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it for your own home-inventory tracking. You may not copy, decompile, reverse-engineer, redistribute, or create derivative works from the app or its source code, in whole or in part, without prior written permission. You may not use the Homivault name, logo, or branding to promote a competing or derivative product.

Data you enter into the app (your appliance records, photos, and invoices) remains yours. This section covers the app itself — its code and design — not your personal data, which is addressed in the sections above.
